The coin disappears, and the video suggests this is how sunset happens on a flat Earth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, the camera is set just below the edge of the table. When the coin is removed, it becomes hidden behind the table&#8217;s edge, as demonstrated in the <a href=\"https:\/\/flatearth.ws\/coin-on-table\">diagram below<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"257\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241006.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10199\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In reality, the sun is seen above us and does not contact the Earth&#8217;s surface. It has a constant apparent size throughout the day. This so-called &#8216;experiment&#8217; can only replicate one aspect of sunset: the sun appears to dip below the horizon. However, it does not explain all other observations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the camera were positioned at the same height as the table&#8217;s surface, the coin in the video would not disappear below the horizon at any point, as illustrated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9AgkaAibh58\">here<\/a> by science writer Mick West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"826\" height=\"515\" src=\"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241007.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241007.png 826w, https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241007-300x187.png 300w, https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/241007-768x479.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to note that the sun indeed appears above the Earth.
