\u201cI\u2019m just interested in whether this news is true?\u201d – a reader asked us, drawing attention to an article published on the web portal Srbin.info<\/a>, titled \u201cFormer Pfizer Director: COVID Vaccinations Are Designed to Reduce Population\u2026<\/strong>\u201d. The article aims to portray COVID-19 vaccines as a kind of biological weapon for depopulation<\/strong>. Of course, this is nonsense<\/strong>, which marginal domestic web portals have picked up from similar foreign media<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article claims that \u201cformer Pfizer Vice President Dr.<\/strong> Mike Yeadon<\/strong> warned that the COVID vaccine is specifically designed to reduce the world\u2019s population, not only by causing death but also by blocking men\u2019s ability to reproduce\u201d. These statements come from a video<\/a> Yeadon recorded for a conference organized<\/a> last autumn in Vienna by the so-called \u201cAssociation of Vaccine Victims\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is Mike Yeadon?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Yeadon was Vice President of the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer, where he spent 16 years researching allergies and respiratory diseases, according to Reuters<\/a>. He gained fame among vaccine skeptics after co-authoring a petition to the European Medicines Agency<\/strong> in late 2020, calling for the suspension of COVID-19 vaccine trials<\/strong>. The petition claimed that the vaccines could cause infertility in women<\/strong>. During and after the coronavirus pandemic, Yeadon spread numerous disinformation and conspiracy theories about vaccines and the pandemic (1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>\u2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are Yeadon\u2019s new claims based on facts?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course not<\/strong>. Multiple scientific studies (1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>\u2026), as well as meta-analyses<\/a> of similar studies, have proven that COVID-19 vaccines do not cause infertility<\/strong>. They also do not cause death (except in extremely rare cases of severe side effects). If these vaccines were causing widespread deaths, countries with 100% vaccination coverage<\/a>, such as the United Arab Emirates<\/strong> or Puerto Rico<\/strong>, would be experiencing drastic \u201cexcess death\u201d rates compared to countries with low vaccination coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a> continues to state that \u201cdata indicate that people vaccinated against COVID-19 are less likely to die from COVID-19 or COVID-19-related complications\u201d and that vaccination does not increase the risk of death from non-COVID-related causes. The World Health Organization (WHO)<\/a> notes that COVID-19 vaccines have saved approximately 1.4 million lives <\/strong>in the European region alone.
This is not the first time<\/a> that Srbin.info has spread disinformation about vaccines and COVID-19 vaccination. The absurd claims of the former Pfizer Vice President have also been shared by other Serbian media, including Nauka i kultura<\/a>, Sedma sila<\/a>, and Borba za very<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
