{"id":11571,"date":"2025-05-30T15:45:00","date_gmt":"2025-05-30T14:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/?p=11571"},"modified":"2025-08-31T19:48:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-31T18:48:44","slug":"the-pandemic-treaty-does-not-allow-for-the-arrest-of-citizens-by-a-global-police-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/index.php\/2025\/05\/30\/the-pandemic-treaty-does-not-allow-for-the-arrest-of-citizens-by-a-global-police-force\/","title":{"rendered":"The Pandemic Treaty Does Not Allow for the Arrest of Citizens by a Global Police Force"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/faktograf.hr\/2025\/05\/29\/pandemijski-sporazum-ne-omogucuje-uhicenje-gradana-od-strane-globalne-policije\/\">Original article<\/a> (in Croatian) was published on 29\/5\/2025; Author: Ladislav Tomi\u010di\u0107<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The World Health Organization\u2019s pandemic agreement does not establish a global police force, nor does it allow the WHO to impose measures such as lockdowns or mandatory vaccinations on member states.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Social media users (archived <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.li\/8wWUM\">here<\/a>) have recently been spreading claims that \u201cthe World Health Organization\u2019s pandemic treaty allows for the arrest of disobedient citizens by a global police force.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCritics say the newly signed WHO pandemic treaty enables the arrest of \u2018non-compliant\u2019 citizens by a global police force\u201d, reads an image shared in a Facebook post published on May 24 by a page named \u201cFree from Birth.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"433\" src=\"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/statpandemij-1200x508-1-1024x433.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/statpandemij-1200x508-1-1024x433.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/statpandemij-1200x508-1-300x127.jpg 300w, https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/statpandemij-1200x508-1-768x325.jpg 768w, https:\/\/seecheck.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/statpandemij-1200x508-1.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The same claim was published by the fringe website Epoha, <a href=\"https:\/\/faktograf.hr\/?s=Epoha\">known for spreading disinformation<\/a>. In an article <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/bcGrj\">posted<\/a> on the same day, the headline reads: \u201cCritics say the newly signed WHO pandemic treaty allows for the arrest of \u2018non-compliant\u2019 citizens by a global police force.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>The WHO Cannot Impose Measures on Sovereign States<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it is not true that this agreement enables a global police force to arrest citizens. The so-called Pandemic Agreement adopted by World Health Organization member states on May 20 does not provide for the establishment of any global law enforcement body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/qOEx7\">As stated on the WHO\u2019s official website,<\/a> the agreement is intended to \u201cstrengthen global collaboration to ensure a more robust and equitable response to future pandemics.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNothing in the WHO Pandemic Agreement shall be interpreted as granting the WHO Secretariat, including the Director-General, the authority to direct, mandate, alter, or otherwise prescribe national and\/or domestic laws or policies of any party. Nor can it require or otherwise impose obligations on countries to take specific actions, such as restricting or accepting travelers, implementing mandatory vaccinations, or enforcing lockdowns\u201d, reads the WHO&#8217;s official statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, the agreement sets out guiding principles, strategies, and tools for better international coordination in areas such as equitable and timely access to vaccines, therapies, and diagnostics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>The Treaty Makes No Mention of Police or Arrests<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.li\/jK3D4\">full text of the treaty<\/a>, available on the WHO\u2019s website, contains no mention of national police forces, coordinated arrests of non-compliant citizens, or the existence of any so-called \u201cglobal police.\u201d These claims are part of a broader conspiracy theory portraying the WHO as a tool for establishing global government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This narrative isn\u2019t new. Last year, similar claims circulated linking the WHO to mass arrests in connection with the bird flu outbreak. At the time, Reuters debunked the theory in an article dated April 24, 2024, titled: <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/bvyyG\">\u201cWHO Member States Have Not Agreed to Arrest Citizens Opposing Bird Flu Measures\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, the WHO\u2019s Pandemic Agreement does not authorize the arrest of citizens by a global police force.
