Portal Vaseljenska shared an article <\/a>in which it is claimed that students in the blockade \u201cadmitted they receive money for their work<\/strong>\u201d and that they work for someone who is \u201cat a much higher level.\u201d However, this is a manipulatively presented statement by the vice president of the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Political Sciences, Vuk Aleksi\u0107, from his appearance on the show <\/a>\u201cUtisak nedelje\u201d<\/strong> (Impression of the Week), whose meaning has been completely torn out of its primary context.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Master\u2019s student of communicology at the Novi Sad Faculty of Philosophy, Boris Koj\u010dinovi\u0107<\/strong>, also a guest on the show, reminded viewers of cases when politically suitable individuals were appointed to the position of president of the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Philosophy. Aleksi\u0107 then continued the story from the first-person plural perspective, noting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe come to study, we\u2019ll take maybe three or four exams, \u2026 We give the impression of studying while actually dealing with some serious things. Do we get some money for it? Maybe, maybe not. Hm. The question is. But essentially we do the job for someone who is at some much higher instance who has a certain interest, and that is to control, obviously, students at the faculty and professors\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The author of the problematic article, Sofija Mari\u0107<\/strong>, interprets this for the Vaseljenska<\/em> audience as an \u201cindirect admission that the blockades are not solely a result of spontaneous student dissatisfaction\u201d but that \u201cthere is an organized structure and a clear line of responsibility behind them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such manipulation is a typical example of a propaganda technique pervasive in the modern digital age \u2014 cheapfakes <\/a>\u2014 in which authentic photos or videos are recontextualized to change their meaning deliberately. In this case, Vaseljenska<\/em> journalists unethically used a small portion of the appearance edited in a way that cannot be clearly interpreted without appropriate context, inserting their own fabricated context<\/strong>. We debunked <\/a>similar deceptions before in the Serbian media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article from Vaseljenska <\/em>was also shared on their social networks of this portal (1<\/a>, 2<\/a>, 3<\/a>), gathering hundreds of reactions and thousands of views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
