The suspicious message suggests that one should avoid going out because \u201cradiation is increasing\u201d. However, according to the latest published report of the Directorate for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security of Serbia, \u201cthere has been no increase in the gamma radiation dose rate on the territory of our country\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAvoid going outside. Radiation is increasing. Last night in NS, it was 0.13 microsievert\/h. Today it is 0.18. They screwed up at Chernobyl and released radiation again. It was 0.50 in Kyiv last night. Today who knows how many. BG is around 0.15 today. The atomic bomb is around 0.12\u201d, claims the message that the reader reported to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Is the level of radiation in Serbia worrying?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the latest report of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220302111425\/https:\/www.srbatom.gov.rs\/srbatomm\/dnevni-izvestaj-direktorata-o-nivou-radioaktivnosti-u-zivotnoj-sredini\/?lang=bs\">Directorate for Radiation and Nuclear Safety and Security of Serbia (SRBATOM)<\/a> published today &#8211; there is no reason to worry. This government\u2019s body announced that \u201cthe measured values \u200b\u200bof the gamma radiation dose rate in the Republic of Serbia are in accordance with the variations of natural radiation and correspond to the location of the measuring instrument and the expected seasonal fluctuations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was confirmed to us by Istvan Bikit, a full professor at the Department of Nuclear Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Novi Sad. He told FN Tragac that \u201call these are normal radiation levels, nothing increased, with the usual variations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the chain message from Viber claims that at one point \u201cin NS\u201d the radiation level was measured at 0.18 microsieverts per hour, SRBATOM states in its report that \u201caverage values \u200b\u200bof ambient equivalent gamma radiation dose for Serbia are in interval of 100-150 nSv\/h (nanosieverts per hour)\u201d, i,e., \u201c0.10 to 0.15 \u00b5Sv\/h (microsieverts per hour)\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same report by SRBATOM states that \u201cin the past 24 hours, there has been no increase in the gamma radiation dose rate on the territory of Europe, including the territory of Ukraine\u201d. On March 1, the website of the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220302095825\/https:\/snriu.gov.ua\/en\/news\/march-01-2022\">State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine<\/a> announced that \u201cthere are no violations of the borders and conditions for the safe operation of nuclear power plants\u201d, as well as that \u201cthe radioactive situation meets established norms\u201d and that \u201cphysical protection systems work normally\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220302110606\/https:\/www.srbatom.gov.rs\/srbatomm\/hitno-saopstenje-za-javnost\/?lang=bs\">urgent press release<\/a> from a few days ago can be found on the SRBATOM\u2019s website, stating that \u201cthere is no reason for citizens\u2019 concern\u201d and that data from measuring stations in Serbia, as well as relevant institutions in Europe, show that no increase in strength of gamma radiation has been recorded on the territory of our country as well as on the territory of Europe\u201d.
