Operating under the Citizens&#8217; Association &#8220;Why not,&#8221; the newsrooms of these platforms have pledged to adhere to the European Code of Standards for Independent Fact-Checking Organizations in their operations.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eufactcheckingproject.com\/\">The European Network of Fact-Checking Organizations<\/a> was established to bring together independent fact-checking organizations to define standards of independence, transparency and methodological and journalistic quality in combating disinformation. The project is led by six European fact-checking organizations, with the support of the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the adoption of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fakenews.rs\/wp-content\/uploads\/EFCSN-Kodeks.pdf\">Code of Standards<\/a> in September 2022, the network held its inaugural governing body elections in November of the same year. This body, comprising 11 members, is tasked with assessing organizations&#8217; compliance with the Code, aiding them in meeting its standards, and serving as the representative body for the European fact-checking community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both Istinomjer and Raskrinkanje are certified signatories of the International Fact-Checking Network (<a href=\"https:\/\/ifcncodeofprinciples.poynter.org\/\">IFCN<\/a>) Code, adhering to its provisions in their fact-checking work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Original article\u00a0published on Why Not website The fact-checking platforms Istinomjer and Raskrinkavanje have recently joined the European Fact-Checking Network (EFCSN).
