A picture depicting Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, in handcuffs and under police escort has been widely shared on social media. Faktoje’s verification revealed that these images are not authentic, but rather a product of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

Artificial intelligence (AI)-generated imagery continues to confuse users across various social media platforms. Recently, a picture depicting Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, handcuffed and escorted by police, has gone viral on social media.

‘According to Israeli Media, Netanyahu’s corruption trial will resume again today in an Israeli Court.’,  a Facebook user wrote  while sharing Netanyahu’s picture with handcuffs.

To verify the authenticity of these images, ‘Faktoje’ used the Google Reverse Image Search engine.

The verification reveals that the picture was first shared on the X platform on October 23 of this year.

Notably, the image contains a disclaimer in English on the left side, indicating that it was generated by an artificial intelligence program. There is also a caption in Hebrew, which translates to “it will happen one day”.

Despite this clear labeling, many social media users have been misled. The AI-generated image was intentionally cropped in some shares to exclude the AI-generated disclaimer.

Faktoje” has previosly checked images that were shared  as authentic, but are, in fact, created using AI programs. Identifying such instances of artificial intelligence use is intended to help readers become more vigilant in trusting images and videos presented online as evidence of false theories.
