Several images circulating online purportedly show Palestinian children looking at explosions in Gaza. Faktoje’s verification revealed that these images were generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) software.

As the bombings in Gaza continue into their fifth week, a number of unverified images circulate on social media, purportedly depicting the situation in the Gaza Strip. Notably, Faktoje encountered two images suggesting silhouettes of children amidst rubble, seemingly gazing at explosions.
Considering that these images, even at a glance, resemble paintings rather than authentic pictures of a war zone, Faktoje took the initiative to verify their authenticity.
Using AI or Not software, Faktoje discovered that images above were generated by Artificial Intelligence software (AI).
Moreover, using Google Reverse Image Search engine, Faktoje discovered that the second image was originally posted in Twitter by GDH Turkish Media. The image was captioned “Picture of life in Gaza drawn by Artificial Intelligence”.
