“CROATS WANT SERBIA TO BURN! They are leading a media campaign for Cumet’s and Zelenovic’s thugs”, several tabloids announced yesterday.
Day: December 21, 2021
After four former members of the State Security were sentenced to 100 years in prison last week for the murder of journalist Slavko Curuvija, the tabloids “told” the story about the “mysterious bag” with 415,000 dollars that Curuvija allegedly carried at the time of the murder.
Pro-regime tabloids attacked Zoran Kesic, author and host of the humorous show caled “24 minutes with Zoran Kesic”, almost synchronously, claiming that he “spat at Serbia”.
A website Srbijadanas.com published a “shocking video which is claimed to show the Mother of God on the Holy Mountain”.
Sensationalist media do not give up on anything to raise readership or viewership. Guided primarily by such interests, they can recycle, abuse and even forge certain content.
The protests held throughout Serbia these days have brought a whole wave of disinformation.
Many do not agree with Montenegro’s membership in the NATO alliance, both in the country and abroad, and this topic is a frequent cause of debates and newspaper articles full of disinformation.
It has long been known that disinformation is used to fuel tensions between states and nations.
In a time of disinformation, those dealing with sensitive issues such as religion can bring more clicks to their creators.
