There is no evidence that Baba Vanga predicted assassinations of Putin for three years in a row

On December 31, 2021, at the threshold of the new year, the website Republika.mk published alleged predictions of the clairvoyant Baba Vanga for 2022. Every year, the media in the Balkans traditionally report about speculations and predictions based on clairvoyant’s sightings, thus giving hope and a look to the next year to their readers under the guise of entertainment.

The title of the text on the website Republika claims that Baba Vanga predicted that in 2022 there would be an attack on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

There was a similar prediction in the Macedonian media in 2021. According to reports from January 12, 2021, or a year earlier, Vanga predicted that US President Donald Trump would suffer from a mysterious disease that would leave him deaf and suffer a brain injury. Similar claims also appeared regarding Vladimir Putin. “For 2021, she predicts an economic downturn in Europe and an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin. She believed that the threat to the leader could come from his country”, said the alleged predictions published in the Macedonian media regarding 2021.

One of those last year’s predictions, which refers to Putin and the alleged attack on him, was also republished one year later, and it became a prediction for 2022. Basically, several years in a row, the Macedonian media, around New Year’s Eve, published claims that Baba Vanga predicted the death or the attack of Putin for the following year. The same happened in 2019 and 2020 as well.

Vangelija Pandeva Dimitrova, better known as Baba Vanga, was born on January 31, 1911, in Strumica, Macedonia. She died on August 11, 1996, in Sofia, Bulgaria. After her marriage, she received the surname Gushterova. She spent most of her life in the Rupite region of Kozuf Mountain in Bulgaria. Today, a wealth of information, most of which is debatable, can be found in a book dedicated to her, written by her niece. Many also considered her a fake.

It is evident that this figure is surrounded by great controversy. The fact that she is no longer alive leads to her alleged predictions being made up and repeated, without it ever being proven that she made them, just like in the case of the prediction of the death of Russian President Vladimir Putin, for which it has never been proven that Vanga predicted.
