They mixed up the interviews: Fauci talked about masks, not the PCR test

After two years of a pandemic, there is hardly a person who has not been tested for COVID-19 at least once. The main tool for detecting this disease is the PCR test, which pandemic deniers and anti-vaxxers have repeatedly declared invalid.

This time, part of Dr. Anthony Fauci’s interview was used for that purpose.

The description of the video states the following:

“SHOCK FROM AMERICA, PCR TEST IS BEING ABOLISHED DR. Fauci explains what influenced the change in the CDC recommendation.

(IN MAY 2020, INDEPENDENT EXPERTS SAID THE PCR TEST WAS INVALID, AND THEY WERE DECLARED CONSPIRACY THEORISTS…)

Dr. Fauci: “The data is clear. Now that we have the Delta variant, that has changed the whole picture, because when you look at the virus level, the virus level in vaccinated people who are infected with the Delta variant is exactly the same as the virus level in unvaccinated people who are infected, and that’s a problem, this data is very convincing, and such a fact triggered a change in the CDC guide”.

Let’s recall, the existing RT-PCR test was the main diagnostic tool that was the basis, i.e., alpha and omega, for the identification and consequent counting of patients and deaths from COVID-19, and the proclamation of the pandemic COVID-19 in 2020, which is still happening. However, after mass vaccination of the US population (as well as the world) with the experimental vaccine against COVID-19, on July 21, 2021, the CDC issued an urgent recommendation to laboratories across the country to discontinue the current PCR test by the end of 2021 with the explanation that it cannot distinguish SEASONAL INFLUENZA from COVID-19. (So, they should sell the stock of tests by the end of the year, after which they will abolish it)”.

In an excerpt from an interview published in July 2021, Fauci states that “Delta strain has changed the whole situation”.

“When you look at the level of virus in the nasopharynx (nose and throat) of a vaccinated person who is infected with the Delta strain, it is the same as in an unvaccinated person. That is a problem, this data is convincing and it triggered changes in CDC instructions”, stated the American epidemiologist.

There is nothing disputable about Fauci’s statement. However, this clip, as well as the interview, does not refer to the PCR test, but it is clear that Fauci was talking about masks, which is indicated in the text below which states the following:

“Dr. Fauci on Changes to the CDC Mask Manual”.

Fauci talked about masks

As can be heard in the interview, Fauci explained that wearing a mask is mandatory because the level of the virus in the nose and throat of Delta soy is the same for the vaccinated and unvaccinated. He explained in the same interview that 60 days ago, i.e., before the appearance of the Delta strain, the level of the virus in the nose and throat of the vaccinated was significantly lower than in the unvaccinated, but that this was not the case with the Delta strain.

Claims that the CDC is withdrawing the PCR test “because it does not distinguish COVID from the flu” are not new. We’ve dealt with them before when we explained that it’s easy to change the test protocol without the CDC “acknowledging that the PCR test doesn’t differentiate Covid from the flu”.
