The arrival of French President Macron at the White House on February 24, 2025, has been described by several Albanian-language media outlets as an act of humiliation by U.S. President Trump.
According to the article, ‘Donald Trump appeared to humiliate French President Macron by not showing up to greet him upon his arrival at the White House, and later seating him at the side of his table in the Oval Office.’
In fact, on February 24, 2025, President Emmanuel Macron of France made a brief visit to Washington, D.C. His agenda was packed: a video conference with G7 countries in the morning, followed by a meeting with President Trump and a joint press conference in the evening, all of which took place at the White House.
He was welcomed by Abigail Jones, the Chief of Protocol of the United States, who later accompanied Macron to Blair House, the official residence for foreign visitors during official visits to the White House, after the G7 meeting.
Later that day, before his meeting with Trump, Macron had an official arrival at the White House. During this, the French president was welcomed by the American president, as seen in videos shared by Trump and the White House, along with several photographs.
