After anti-corruption protesters in Nepal set fire to the parliament building in Kathmandu on September 9, drawing international attention, a claim began circulating on social media that Nepalese Foreign Minister Rana Deuba had been confirmed dead following an attack on her residence and that of her husband, former Prime Minister Sher Deuba.

However, this claim lacks any supporting evidence, source, or reference.
Rana Deuba and her husband were attacked by protesters on September 9. Demonstrators forcibly entered their residence in Kathmandu. Video footage shows the former Prime Minister with blood on his face after the attacks.
The couple was escorted to a secure location by the military.
According to local media, it was Rabi Laxmi Chitrakar, the wife of former Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, who died on September 9 from burns sustained when protesters set her house on fire.
The circulated post appears to confuse Deuba with Chitrakar.
As of the publication of this article, there is no official confirmation or credible report of the death of Nepalese Minister Rana Deuba.
