Razkrinkavanje.si (Slovenia)

Razkrinkavanje.si was developed by Oštro, Center for investigative journalism in the Adriatic region, that is based in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was launched on 6 May 2019 to monitor the public debate for misinformation, fake news and simply bad journalism that is distributed by the media, elected officials, political parties and interest groups.

Razkrinkavanje.si provides regular analysis of Slovenian media content with zero tolerance for the phenomenon of fake news and disinformation. The team couples the most important fact-checking stories with visual commentary created by excellent illustrators who critically evaluate current misinformation campaigns.

Razkrinkavanje.si also functions as an investigative journalism hub that equips journalism students and young reporters with skills and tools to serve them in their careers at Oštro or other media. Fact-checking is an efficient training ground for investigative minds and the cultivation of high professional standards.

Oštro is a member of the Organized Crime and Reporting Project (OCCRP), the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) and one of the founding members of See Check, the Balkan fact-checking network.

In November 2020, just 1,5 years after the launch of Razkrinkavanje.si, Oštro became the first Slovenian verified signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network’s Code of Conduct.
